About Chrissy

“Healing isn’t about doing more. It’s about creating the right conditions for the body to respond.”

I'm Chrissy, a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and trained Clinical Herbalist and passionate about natural healing.  I completed my BA at Castleton State College, my RD (Registered Dietitian) at University of New Hampshire and completed an apprenticeship and advanced training at the Boston School of Herbal Studies.  My approach harmonizes science and soul and for those who feel there is more to healing than treating symptoms alone. I believe our bodies are constantly communicating with us. When we learn to listen—with curiosity instead of judgment—we uncover important clues about our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.  I created Nurturing Remedies 14 years ago to practice nutrition and herbal therapy in a way that reflects my philosophy on health and well being and to create a space of compassion, skill, and trust.  I continue to learn and evolve from my most treasured teachers- my clients.  I gained valuable  experience working at hospitals, re-habs, long term care facilities, clinics and community based programs but a natural healing approach in a nurturing warm environment was severely lacking.

Starting years ago, my approach was always client centered (not disease centered) honoring each person's individual story, goals, challenges, and biochemical make up. Uncovering the root causes and promoting balance  is the driving force of healing.  My vision is to witness clients connecting to their innate healing, thus empowering themselves through mindful decisions regarding their well being

Many of the herbs I use and teach about are grown, harvested, or inspired by the rhythms of the land surrounding Nurturing Remedies. My hope is that every visit reconnects people not only to their health, but also to the healing wisdom found in nature. My goal is to help you find those strategies that will assist and enhance your body, mind, and spirit's natural healing abilities by using food, botanical medicine, targeted nutritional supplements, lifestyle practices, and compassionate guidance—always tailored to you.
